So, Metal Gear Solid V is everything I wanted it to be, and more. It might be the least "Metal Gear" game ever, but that's fine. I love this evolution. It's more of a Big Boss Simulator 1984 than it is a classic Metal Gear, and I think that's far more interesting. I think Big Boss as a character is more interesting than Solid Snake because of how "free" he is. Freedom is the key element in MGSV. You're free to tackle whichever missions you want, whenever you want, however you want. That sense of freedom really suits the character of pirate king Big Boss. Solid Snake, however, is almost always tied to a single mission, a driving plot force guiding Snake and the player down a linear, pre-planned path. Solid Snake never gets to be free, a common theme even in those game's stories. He's almost always a pawn that everyone had a hand in guiding. But Big Boss? He plans his missions, occasionally sends people to do his dirty work, and frequently reaps the rewards. I think I just love super capitalistic heroes. I want my role models to get fucking paid. That's why Scrooge McDuck is the best, and why Star Fox 64 is the best ending because those motherfuckers sent an invoice for saving the galaxy.

Anyways, I'm gonna go off and play some more MGSV. SEE YOU ON FRIDAY.
