Blaster Nation began in 2011 as a way for Leslie and I to kill time as we desperately searched for new jobs. Never in our lives did we think that this comic would last one year, let alone five. Hell, maybe that's kind of evident now. Seriously though, Blaster Nation has been a wild ride for us, and hopefully for you, too. This simple slice-of-life comic about horrible nerds has resonated with so many people across the web and changed our lives in ways we could never imagine. This has been an amazing experience and we have so many people to thank for this. Buckle up, baby, because we're starting this credits roll with the special thanks.

Thank you Chron for setting up this site way back when. I don't know what you're doing now, but I hope you're doing well.

Thank you Lemonfont and Andromalin for being our first webcomic allies and helping us so much in our early days.

Thank you Joseph Stillwell for being the greatest boss we could ever ask for and supporting us all these years.

Thank you Chloe C. for recommending us to Jojo in the first place. Such a kind gesture has changed our lives so much, and we'll always be thankful.

Thank you Erin Burt, Isabelle Melancon, Megan Lavey-Heaton, Kisai, and all Hiveworks staff that have kept this site afloat this entire time. Couldn't have done anything without you guys.

Thank you Drew Mears, Toebone, Cameron Towne, Andrew Janson, and Gautam Behal, our greatest fans.

Thank you to all of our great guest comic artists: Kevfu, Chalmers & Vorked, Megan Beals, Mr. Hoisington, Jeanne Thorton, Simon Dickie, Zack Morrison, Scotty, Louie & Brad, Kyatt, Talon, Ethan Catt, Tavo Duarte, Zack Turner & Josh Breidbart, Eric Flint, and Psudonym & Gunwild. Good luck on all of your projects.

Thank you Freeglass for your awesome inks and guest comics. You were a dream to work with.

Thank you Nalem and Spanio, both for the terrific guest comics and for being the best roommates we've ever had.

Thank you Nerfnow for being such a big fan and showering us with weird Ash-related fanart.

Thank you to all of our real-life friends who served as the inspiration for these characters. You know who you are, and you know you're the best.

Thank you Maggie, Leslie's greatest friend and our unofficial mascot chihuahua. We hope you had a wonderful life.

Thank you to our families, for supporting and reading this comic even when it's weird and gross. Hopefully one day we'll make a comic that makes sense to you guys. (Not the adult one though, don't read that)

Thank you /co/ for...well, being /co/.

And of course, our biggest thanks to the most important person of all...

You.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for commenting. Thank you for helping with our Kickstarter. Thank you for telling your friends. Thank you for buying our stuff. Thank you for laughing at our jokes. Thank you for cringing at our characters' embarrassing moments. Thank you for getting wrapped up in their drama. Thank you for telling us how much you liked our comic. Thank you for pointing out what was wrong with it. Thank you for getting involved. Thank you for your fan art. Thank you for your fan fiction. Thank you for loving, hating, and/or relating to Matt, Dan, Kim, Rinnie, Ash, Derrick, Hai, Melissa, Curt, Jenny, and Tort. Thank you for stopping by our synchtube parties and streams. Thank you for all the time you've spent with our comic. Thank you for following our lives across these five years.

Because of you, we were able to quit our jobs and do these comics for a living. We started a crazy successful Kickstarter and had our very own book printed. We got married. We started a second comic. We left our hometown and moved to beautiful northern Kentucky. Our lives have changed so much, all for the better. All because of you.

Thank you. Thank you so much.

This isn't goodbye, obviously. Leslie and I want to do comics together forever. We'll still be updating The Rock Cocks until completion, but if adult comics aren't your thing, then you won't have to wait long for our next, more worksafe comic. Hopefully, we'll have figured out how to do better endings by then. Either way, we hope you'll continue to follow us throughout our comic-making lives. Please, feel free to follow us on tumblr and both of our twitters. We're always happy to answer questions and keep you updated on everything we're working on.

Well, this is it. This is the end of the blog post. Hell, I doubt I'll ever do another blog post like this again, unless I really wanna bitch about a video game on tumblr. Thanks for sticking with me through all these incomprehensible blog posts of mine, but I'm afraid the crazy train ends here. I suck at goodbyes, but then, like I said, this really isn't goodbye at all, is it?

See you on our next comic!

So, this Blaster Nation is a week late, and I'm really sorry about that. We said on our twitter that some stuff had come up, but that wasn't really the truth. The truth was...we were just kind of depressed. The negativity from last update's comments just left us completely unmotivated to work on the comic. We figured that no matter what, no was going to like what we put up, so we said, fuck it, let's work on other things.

That was really shitty of us, and I apologize. What we did really wasn't fair at all. We understand the frustration over the sudden ending, we really do. And even if some of you are a bit more vocal about it, that's no reason for us to just not update. We had to remember, most of you are frustrated because you really like the comic and you're sad to see it go. Even if some of you are ruder than others, you're still coming from a place of love, and the fact that you're this passionate about our comic is still a touching experience. We're happy you guys love the comic so much. It's thanks to you that Blaster Nation has even made it to this point. We can't stop this ending, and we can't guarantee that you'll like it, but we can put as much effort into it as we can. We're going to put everything we can into this upcoming finale page. You guys deserve that much. All of you. Thank you for your support.

This finale page will take a week or two. It's essentially five pages in one, with really elaborate panels. Please bear with us while we put our all into it. Thank you all again for reading, and we hope to see you soon for the final Blaster Nation page!

Between Okami, Ni-Oh Beta, Muramasa Rebirth, and two different Senran Kagura (SR2 and EV) games, I've basically been gorging out on games about medieval fantasy Japan. Mostly Okami. Strangely, as big of a Platinum fan as I am, I never really beat Okami. I was maybe 17 when Okami came out and after I beat Orochi the first time, I just fell off and got distracted and never picked it up again until now. Man, I fucking missed out. The second half of the game has been really great. I would've never expected so much variety at this point. I'm riding a tiny cute whale right now about to go climb a giant cat god tower. Can't wait to see how this game ends.

So, uh, don't freak out or anything, but there's only two pages left! Well, sort of. It's more like two updates. Next page is going to be a normal page, but the last page is going to be huge. Like four pages in one. I don't wanna spoil anything, but I'm hoping people will like it. It will answer quite a few lingering questions, and the ones that aren't answered...eh, I'll answer them in the synchtube party hosted immediately after. The ride's almost over, folks, but we still have some fun planned.

See you next week!

Before we get into our regularly scheduled blog post, I just want to send our hearts out to everyone affected by the nightmarish flooding that Louisiana has been experiencing in the last couple of days. Our hometowns have been completely wrecked by this catastrophe and it hurts seeing it in the state it's in. Our families are safe and sound, but so much damage has been done. To all of our Louisiana readers, we hope you're doing okay. Please be safe out there.

So we finally watched Batman v Superman and it was a fucking mess. But I'm kind of late on that train and everyone pretty much agrees it sucks and all the major talking points about it have been discussed by people far better at criticizing movies than me, so I'll spare you all the same flaws everyone else has pointed out. They really should've skipped all this shit and jumped straight to Justice League, at least it's possible that that movie might have some semblance of fun or entertainment.

Anyways, other than that, it's been nothing but work work work. I completely rewrote this current Rock Cocks chapter, we've been working on our last Slipshine comic for the year, and I've written the final pages for Blaster Nation. It's weird, finishing work on a comic like this, but it's also really exciting. It'll be nice to have one or two regular days off during the week.

We're thinking about doing a synchtube celebration party once the final Blaster Nation page has gone up, if I can figure out what kind of videos to put on. Give you guys a way to talk to us for a couple hours and ask all those pent-up Blaster Nation questions you've had and shit. If you got any suggestions for it, let me know.

See you next week!

So, yesterday marked the eight year anniversary of me and Leslie's first date! That's right, we started dating on 08/08/08. Makes it really easy to remember (though we both still almost forgot). Our first date was a trip to the movies to see the hot new Batman film everyone was talking about. A lot of people say movies are a lame first date but whatever, it worked out pretty well, I think.

It's been eight years since we started dating, five years since we started Blaster Nation, three years since we got married, and in a few more months, it'll be two years since we started Rock Cocks. Blaster Nation may be wrapping up, but we've got so many plans for the future. We're going to be making comics until we're wrinkled and gray, and we're going to make them all together. I couldn't ask for a better artist, a better wife, or a better friend than Leslie. I'm so lucky to have someone as amazing as her to work with, let alone be married to. And of course, that wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the wonderful support you guys have given us over the years. You guys are the best, and I can't thank you enough. But dammit, I'm going to try! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

In less sappy news, I sold a bunch of old Street Fighter IV toys from my high school days and bought Fantasy Life for the 3DS! It's really cute and really god damn addictive holy shit. I started out as a carpenter, but then realized it'd be way more effective to double as a woodcutter so I could provide my own materials rather than buying them like a chump, so I dipped into woodcutting before realizing how helpful mining resources would be, so I tried all three until I figured that blacksmithing would ALSO be great for upgrading all my shit with all these things I get from my other three jobs. The life/job system is a lot of fun, and the main story is actually pretty engaging, too! Really digging the writing, every character is really amusing to read. Can't wait to see what else this game has to offer.

See you again next week!

More like one month later, right? HEEEYOOOO, WE'RE BACK.

So, our busiest month ever is now officially over. We made it through our biggest convention ever (Anime Midwest in Chicago) and we survived our family vacation down in Louisiana. We had a lot of great, exhausting fun. We sold books! We walked around New Orleans during a severe thunderstorm! We ate a lot of delicious seafood! We saw a newborn baby (Happy belated birthday, Sophia)! I chickened out on a bunch of waterslides at a water park! We fled for safety into an abandoned civil war fort on a desert island during another thunderstorm (no joke)! And most importantly, we got to spend a lot of time and have a lot of fun with our respective families. It was a great time, but it's nice to be back home and back to work.

We missed a lot of shit while we were gone, too. Sonic Mania! What the fuck was that?! It was like a fucking fever dream, the craziest Sonic and Totino's Stuffed Nachos-fueled mess I've ever seen. BUT the actual Sonic Mania game actually looks great, and I loved Sonic Generations 1 so I'll probably love Not-Sonic Generations 2. Most importantly, Sega actually seems to be listening to what fans want now (finally), and hiring actual fans and fangame creators is a brilliant move. At this point, fans know way more about what makes Sonic good than Sega does, and it's great that they kind of admit that now with this hiring decision.

Dead Rising Remasters! YES! I'm a huge Dead Rising fan and Frank West is my favorite fictional character ever, so this is big for me. Most importantly, I FINALLY get a Dead Rising 1 port, the only thing I've ever wanted and the only reason I ever wanted to keep my Xbox 360 around. Dead Rising 1 is easily my personal favorite of the series, so I'm really excited to replay that game again on PS4 where I won't have to fear the console exploding while I'm attempting a 7-day infinite mode challenge. It'd also be nice to have a version of Off the Record that's actually optimized and plays well.

Ghostbusters! No review. I refuse.

Nah, but seriously, it looks like a generic comedy. I liked the old Ghostbusters and the Real Ghosbusters cartoon. Wouldn't call myself a superfan, but I like that particular dry comedy and I LOVE capitalist, money-minded heroes, so I was all about the building of a paranormal extermination business. New Ghostbusters just looks like slapstick throw-a-million-jokes-a-minute-at-the-audience-and-hope-some-stick kind of basic comedy that's just not my kind of thing. Not gonna insult you if you like it, I don't do that unless it's the Devil May Cry reboot, but it's just not a movie I'm interested in seeing.

...You know, I thought we missed more, but I guess that might be the biggest thing. I missed EVO, still need to catch up on that, but I don't have much to say in that regard. Ah well. I'm sure you guys'll remind me of what we missed.

Either way, back to work! See you next week!

An arc ends, and a new relationship begins. Or, uh, gets revived. Or something. Whatever, it's cute.

So, let me break down our July for you guys: We've got Anime Midwest in Chicago this month, which is definitely our biggest and probably our last convention ever (at least for a long while). We've got a 12-hour car ride down to Louisiana so we can spend a week with our families (haven't seen them in a year). We've got a huge, complicated chapter of Rock Cocks to draw. And somehow between all that, we've got to squeeze in some time to watch Summer Games Done Quick.

What does this all mean? It means Blaster Nation is taking a few weeks off so we can not overload ourselves. Rock Cocks is already on a small break so we can try to build up a buffer, so Blaster Nation will have to do the same. Sadly, we'll still be working like crazy during this small break on RC, but eh, what are ya gonna do. At least we'll get to spend some time away from computers down in Louisiana.

Thank you all for bearing with us. We'll let you all know on our social media pages whenever the next page is up. Of course, when we get back, we'll be slowing down Blaster Nation to 1 update a week, but we're gonna try something a little different, shake things up with some characters. We're still kind of in the planning part, but we're excited to try some new things.

That's all for now! See you once our hellish July schedule clears up a bit!

So, Mighty No. 9 came out. I played a few of levels and it's just as disappointing as everyone's probably already told you. Luckily, I played our roommate's copy of the game, so I didn't back or pay for the game. If I had, I'd probably have a much, much worse opinion of the game, because every single element of it reaks of a cheap, lazy rip-off.

It's sad, because you can almost feel a good game buried somewhere deep within Mighty No. 9's upper crust of sheer unapologetic laziness. The game has tight controls and you can play at a pretty breakneck speed if you can suffer through the frequent framerate drops and bad enemy placement. But that speed comes with the awful dash system, an unintuitive, stupid system that requires you to dash through enemies to score points and get power ups. This sounds like an interesting bullet point on the back of a game box, but there's too many downsides. For instance, the game encourages you to dash through multiple enemies to rack up a combo, but your normal shot can't go through enemies. So if two enemies are lined up, then only the front enemy will take damage and enter a "dashable" state. You'll either have to keep shooting that enemy until it disappears, or dash into it to get the points, only to take damage from the enemy behind it. If this game was just going to be a Megaman clone anyways, why not add a charge shot to shoot through multiple enemies? It would've worked perfectly. You CAN get a damage upgrade from absorbing red enemies, and those bullets will go through multiple enemies, but that upgrade is on a timer and slows down your rate of fire, making it actually detrimental in boss fights. Speaking of boss fights, you can only do permanent damage if you dash through them. If you don't, then they recover all their health back. It's so dumb. Why would you dash at a boss when they normally do damage on contact? You have a gun that can shoot from across the screen. You'd normally want to be as far from the boss as possible. If they wanted you to fight closer, why not give you a melee weapon at the start?

Everything else about the game are just stale toppings on an aggressively bland cake. Graphically, it looks like a below average Dreamcast launch title. The level design is barely there, occasionally directly ripping from classic Megaman games but without the clever ways those levels would prepare you for shit (hope you liked Megaman 2's underwater spike-wall drops). The music can barely be heard through the annoying sound effects, and what you can hear isn't good. The characters suck, the bosses suck, and the writing sucks. And you might say, "Well, Brad, Megaman games never had good writing!" Yeah, that's true, but they also didn't pepper every moment of the game with terrible dialogue and awful voice acting. I never had to go through a Megaman level while a character pops up in the bottom of the screen via codec to yell for his mommy and list off all his unique personality quirks. Megaman never frequently interrupted the gameplay to show off their unanimated, lazy, unentertaining cutscenes (except 7 and 8 which no one likes anyways). For being such a shameless Megaman clone, it fails to capture anything that made the Megaman games so universally revere. Just a few months before Mighty No. 9's kickstarter launched, Shovel Knight launched their kickstarter. Financially, it made roughly 14% of what Mighty No. 9 would make. Despite that, it looks better, has fantastic music, plays wonderfully, and is a much more successful homage to Megaman and NES platformers than Mighty No. 9 could ever hope to be. Not only that, but Shovel Knight came out on time and even released a full, free expansion before Mighty No. 9 even launched.

Mighty No. 9 is an embarassingly mediocre game created from an embarassingly mismanaged Kickstarter campaign. Comcept should be ashamed of themselves for wasting their fan's money with such blatant disregard, especially considering that many of their backers still haven't received the rewards they paid for, or even had rewards taken from them like the beta. Frankly, I'm not convinced that the game is "better than nothing".

Short blog post today. Just been one of those work-nonstop-forever kinda weeks now that E3 is over. I bought every Leisure Suit Larry game during the recent Good Ol' Games sale. That was a series I completely missed out on growing up (and y'know, for good reason, because I was a little baby), and I'm really excited to play them, even if there's a strong chance that they haven't aged too well. The only ones I have any experience with is Larry 2 and the pretty bad PS2 game. I just really want to check out all the famous point-n-clicks of that era.

WELP, see you next week!

Welp, E3 has come and gone. Or not, I guess it's only just begun for most of the gaming press. But for most of us at home, the conferences are over, and that's really what we're all here for. So hey, in case you weren't flooded by my obnoxious series of livetweets during every conference, I'm gonna tell you what I thought and what games I'm looking forward to! Oh, I know you didn't ask, don't worry! I'm going to tell you anyway!

So, Microsoft had a pretty decent conference. They've finally announced just enough games to make me consider purchasing an Xbone. Though I have to say that while they totally had me bust out my wallet for an Xbone S, they really fucked things up by introducing Project Scorpio immediately after. Like, I'm still not sure what the fuck Scorpio is, whether it's the big new console or just a 4k/VR upgrade to the Xbone. I was leaning towards the latter, but Xbone S can also do 4k. But they also said Scorpio won't get any exclusive games, so what the fuck is it? Whatever, though, I'm not big into 4k or VR so I'll just get the S if I get anything. Big selling point for me was Dead Rising 4 because it looks fun as hell and Frank West is my favorite fictional character of all time. Can I get it on PC? Of course, but it'd be cheaper to buy an Xbone than it would be to upgrade my PC to the point where it could play it.

Sony just keeps going bigger and bolder with their conferences. A fucking live orchestra conducting the whole goddamn thing? That is NUTS. I'm digging the narrative direction God of War is taking, but gameplay-wise, it looks like a total step back. Like it's a step even below Last of Us's "just walk around while we throw dialogue at you and then a really simplistic, highly-scripted action segment happens" shit. At least Kratos isn't completely unbearable like he usually is. Kojima's game looks fucking INSANE and I can't wait until more details come out. Days Gone killed my interest when it was revealed to be a zombie game (big surprise), but then it perked back up when it threw literally like a million goddamn rushing zombies flooding out through windows and doors and shit. It looked pretty cool, I'd play that. And oh my god, I can't believe they brought out Crash Bandicoot just to shoot him in the head live on stage. Last year, Sony made me cry with their Shenmue 3 reveal. This year, I cried again from laughing so hard at how Sony managed to kill such insane hype with one simple title drop: "Skylanders". That was hilarious. And sad!

Nintendo was incredibly ballsy this year, focusing just on Zelda. I was disappointed when I realized we wouldn't be seeing anything else and it wouldn't even be a Nintendo Direct, but in the end, I think it paid off. The new Zelda looks amazing, and despite Nintendo streaming it for over 7 hours straight, I just want to see MORE. It's easily the most ambitious game Nintendo has ever done and the sheer amount of shit they've shown off is so impressive. Shield-surfing, cooking, rock-climbing, enemy-climbing, huge environments, 100 mini-dungeons, parachuting, fire physics, naked Link, taking a skeleton's arm and beating them to death with it, climbing a tree, eating apples off the tree, cutting down a tree, using a tree as a bridge, cutting the rest of the tree into lumber, god there's SO MUCH. It clearly borrows a lot from shit like Phantom Pain and Witcher 3 but the sheer amount of ways you can interact and manipulate the actual environment is crazy. I was so worried at first, but now Zelda is easily the game I'm looking forward to the most.

Oh yeah, and I guess Ubisoft/Bethesda/EA had some conferences, too. Quake is back, that's pretty cool. Titanfall 2 looks sick. And Ubisoft was...well, Ubisoft. At least they're trying to give Watch_Dogs 2 a personality this time, even if it's an insufferable one.

That's all for today! See you on Friday!

Classic Ash.

Sorry guys, but this is gonna be the only page for Blaster Nation this week. We got hit with a lot of sudden, unexpected Rock Cocks-related work that's gonna have to take priority. It's a huge bummer, I know, but it's gonna have to lead into an even bigger bummer.

So, as some of you may have seen, Rock Cocks got picked up by Slipshine as part of their new adult webcomics network. RC will still be free, of course, nothing has changed in that regard. But it does mean that we're going to be shifting focus towards making RC our priority. I'm sad to announce that after this current Ash/Rinnie chapter, Blaster Nation will be reduced to a maximum of one comic a week. Yes, maximum, meaning sometimes, there won't be an update during that week. And I'm sorry.

The truth is, even though Slipshine is definitely helping move towards it, this is something we've been wanting to do for quite some time now. While Blaster Nation has always been a fun comic to work on and we love seeing your reactions to all this weird nerd shit, it's been getting harder and harder to work on it. We've told all the major stories that we wanted to tell, and honestly, crazy pornographic rockstars is always going to be a little more exciting and interesting to work on than tried-and-true slice-of-life nerd shenanigans. Don't get me wrong, we're not ending this comic just yet. We still want to come back to this thing whenever we have some fun ideas. But right now, trying to split our workload in half between both comics is making them both suffer and if we had to choose one over the other, then it has to be RC.

It hurts typing this, seriously. I don't want you guys thinking that we're not grateful to you or that we don't care. Because we do! We love you guys! Seriously, Blaster Nation has been such a fucking fun comic to work on, all because of you. We've enjoyed every reaction, every stream, every synchtube, everything. We made a second comic because of you guys! We published a fucking BOOK! That's CRAZY! We owe so much to you! And I'm just sorry that we can't keep this update schedule up. I know it's disappointing, I know it sucks. I just hope you'll stick around and maybe check out Rock Cocks (if you're of the appropriate age and like porn comics). There'll be a time where RC will end too, and then we'll move onto our next big comic. We want to keep making unique, crazy-ass comics FOREVER. But it's always going to be sad when one comes to an end (or in this case, slows the fuck down a lot).

But hey! This Ash/Rinnie story still has quite a few pages left in it and we've still got ideas for some fun one shots, so stick around for them! And like I said, we'll stick with two updates a week until the end of this chapter. But for right now, you'll have to wait until next Wednesday to see what happens next.

Thank you guys again for everything! We'll see you next week! Look forward to my obnoxious E3 live-tweets this weekend!

Yo, so I've been dying of allergies for like a week straight now. I can't breathe out of my nose, my throat itches, my eyes are in eternal pain, and my entire head feels like it's been punched in the face but the fist has yet to leave my nose area. Sometimes there's brief moment of relief and eating spicey foods really helps sometimes, but this isn't one of those times. I just want to be able to breathe again.

Anyways, all that is happening plus I still had to flat-color this page, so this is going to be a mercifully short blog post. SEE YOU ON FRIDAY.

Sorry about the delay! We were at Yoi-Con all of last weekend. It was...eh, I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't great. We managed to break even and sell some books, but the con was mismanaged and completely underpopulated. Like, most of the time, you could count the number of con-goers in the dealers room on two hands. It was very, veeery boring, and the fact that we had to drive two hours back and forth from the con each day did not help. But it did give us plenty of time to brainstorm on our comics! Plus, if we managed to do okay at a con with the tiniest attendance, then we can't wait to see how we do at a bigger con, like, say, Anime Midwest in Chicago coming this July.

Anyways, OVERWATCH IS OUT! What more can we say? It's fucking great. It's the sequel to Team Fortress 2 we've been waiting for. Hell, I can't think of a single complaint to bring up about it. I guess I'd like it if Winston's gun did more damage, but he's not terrible or anything. No character is, and no character really feels overpowered either (though I'm sure many commenters will disagree). Maybe once I put more hours into it, I'll find something I don't really care for or something I think can be improved, but man, right now it's great. Just great.

I guess that's all for now! SEE YOU ON FRIDAY!

Hey guys! Sadly, there's only going to be one page up this week because Leslie and I are busy as HELL right now. Why, you ask?

Because this weekend, Leslie and I will be at Yoi-con in Colombus, Ohio! We'll be manning an artist alley table, doing pencil commissions and selling books and prints. We haven't done a con in over a year, so we're real excited! If you happen to be in the area, come on by and chat us up!

Aaaand now we gotta get back to work preparing for the con. At the very least, after this con, OVERWATCH WILL BE OUT, BABBBBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! SEE YOU THEN!

well gee i wonder if she's going to show her some anime or something

Lot of small things going on. Leslie's new set up is fucking COOL AS SHIT, but all that whining I did about not being able to flat-color is now void. Complicated comic pages like this one are still a pain for Leslie to do, so I got my old job back! HOORAY! No, no sarcasm, I'm glad I can still help with the comic-making progress. Clip Studio Paint still has so many boss-ass features, so it was still worth it.

Finally beat Plague Knight after playing it on and off again for the last couple of months. Amazing DLC, but I think everyone else on the internet has said everything they can about it. Hell, I feel stupid recommending it because I figure everyone else has beaten it like a year ago. But it was damn good. Really adorable ending.

I also replayed and beat Bully on Steam, which was one of my favorite games growing up. How does it hold up? Eh, not very well. I don't want to do a whole review on it becuase I played a really buggy-ass Steam port and I don't really know if it's just because it's a typical PS2-gen Rockstar game or if the port itself is just really buggy. Either way, while I love the whole low-tech kid-centric nature of the game, the missions themselves just aren't very fun. It really does a fine job of capturing the atmosphere of shitty school life, but I just can't stand the writing. Too many times, instead of crafting like a joke based around the characters and their personalities, character's will instead just outright tell you that they're a parody or caricature. Like, just blatantly. "It takes more than victory to become a champion. It takes breeding, and nepotism, and snobbery!" is an actual quote by the leader of the rich kids, and the whole game is just full of shit like that. For some reason, I remembered these characters being...y'know, characters, but they're not. I just wish the game tried a bit harder in the writing department, but writing was clearly a second-thought. Sick soundtrack, though, Shawn Lee is great.

I'm also watching our roommate play Uncharted 4, and it is boooring as fuck so far. He's nine chapters in and it's just been a lot of shitty stealth, a lot of boring "drama" if you can call it that, and the same follow-the-dotted-line platforming as always occasionally peppered with some boring-ass shoot-everyone sections. The game has the opposite problem I had with Bully where it's focusing a little too much on its writing and the gameplay itself is suffering because of it. What always made Uncharted stand out was all the crazy action set-pieces that made you feel like a participant in a crazy action movie, but I haven't really seen any of that so far. Maybe it picks up, I dunno. I just want them to recapture that magic Uncharted 2 had.

God, I am jonesing for some Overwatch.

That's all for now! SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!
