Sorry this page was late, everybody! Yesterday's RC kinda kicked our ass. You should check it out! There's comments enabled and everything now! But uh, just be warned, there's some pretty NSFW pages in there. I mean, that should be obvious by now, but still.
We saw that Jem and the Holograms trailer. Wasn't happy! Jem was a huge influence on us when we were making RC. We love that cartoon! We love the characters, the campiness, the costumes, the cartoon physics, the wacky transitions into music videos, the motorcycle guitars, EVERYTHING. Then this trailer comes out with absolutely none of those things. Nothing. It's the most bland and boring trailer I've ever seen, and seemingly has nothing to actually do with Jem. It could be any other band-goes-through-troubled-times story, I don't know why something as fucking out-there as Jem had to be attached to this. Just why bother? Why piss off fans like this? Why did Jem need this DmC-esque reboot?
In our rage against unfaithful adaptations, we went and rewatched the Wachowski's Speed Racer movie. God, I WISH Jem could've gotten a movie like that. Something colorful and crazy and energetic as hell. Jem would be perfect for a Speed Racer-style special effects camp-fest. I wish I lived in an alternate universe where we could've gotten a fun Jem movie and DMC4 wasn't rushed out the door and Megaman Legends 3 wasn't dead.
